چکیده

The chromosome numbers and karyotypes of eight species the genus Allium distributed in Turkey were analyzed. These taxa are A. armerioides Boiss., orientale stamineum tuncelianum (Kollmann) Özhatay, B.Mathew & Şiraneci, subakaka Razyfard Zarre, muratozelii Armağan, dumanii Koyuncu Koçyiğit colchicifolium Boiss. Four them (A. armerioides, tuncelianum, dumanii) endemic Turkey. all studied determined as 2n=2x=16, while had number 2n=2x=16+2B. A basic x=8 was confirmed for investigated species. Haploid lengths varied from 91.48 µm armerioides) to 176.16 colchicifolium) among Karyotype analysis indicated that generally symmetrical, consisting metacentric submetacentric pairs. Only has subtelocentric chromosomes. Satellites observed three species; subakaka, armerioides. first time this study.

Comparative Analysis of Amaryllidaceae Alkaloids from Three Lycoris Species.

The major active constituents from Amaryllidaceae family were reported to be Amaryllidaceae alkaloids (AAs), which exhibited a wide spectrum of biological activities, such as anti-tumor, anti-viral, and acetyl-cholinesterase-inhibitory activities. In order to better understand their potential as a source of bioactive AAs and the phytochemical variations among three different species of Lycoris ...

Karyotype Analyses of Four Astragalus L. (fabaceae) Species from Turkey

Astragalus L. is a perennial herbaceous genus belonging to the family Fabaceae. Chromosome morphology was defined for the first time in four species of Astragalus namely; A. antalyensis A.Duran & Podlech, A. nezaketae A.Duran & Aytaç, A. cariensis Boiss. & A. schizopterus Boiss. All species contained diploid chromosome numbers of 2n = 16. However, polyploid cells (4x = 32) were also observed in...

Antitumor activity of alkaloids derived from Amaryllidaceae species.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the anticancer properties of five alkaloids isolated from Amaryllidaceae, including the inhibitory effect on P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and the apoptosis-inducing capacity. The tested alkaloids were evaluated for their multidrug resistance (MDR)-reversing activity on human MDR1-gene-transfected L5178 mouse lymphoma cells, using the rhodamine-123 (Rh-12...

Antimicrobial Activity of Five Endemic Asperula Species from Turkey

In this study, methanol and ether extracts of five endemic Asperula species (Rubiaceae) from Turkey (A. antalyensis, A. brevifolia, A. pseudochlorantha, A. purpurea subsp. apiculata and A. serotina), used in the traditional system of medicine, were tested for antimicrobial activity by the agar well diffusion method and the broth dilution method. The most active species were Asperula brevifolia ...
